Block Party Schedule

This Saturday, September 9-- the 14th annual block party! The action will take place at the corner of 177th and Serpentine. The street will be closed to through traffic.

~12 Noon
Close the street and set up the tables and chairs. Always a good time to help out if you can!

Noon – 3pm
Set the tables and get the food and tents up. Sound system, BBQs, Ping Pong etc.

4pm
Party time! Bring pot luck if you like—desserts are always a favorite, salads even more so. Hair Painting and Sidewalk Chalk Art begin. Bicycles, skateboards, anything on wheels (without an engine) is welcome. New this year: Neighborhood Yard Exchange—bring toys, books, children’s clothes, plants, something you think someone else might be able to use (no furniture please)

4:30–5:30

5pm
BBQ is served. $3.50 gets you a plate, a beverage, and a ticket for the raffle. Burgers and condiments are served. Vegi burgers are always available.

5:30
Raffle and neighborhood announcements. We will take a few minutes to mention neighborhood emergency preparedness efforts. Block Watch information will also be available.

6:30
Let the Games begin. The traditional Tug-of-War (c’mon Southsiders, we need numbers!)
Water Balloon Toss, Bucket Brigade, and whatever other crazy stunts we can come up with. Be prepared for random acts of soaking.

8pm
It doesn’t really have to end, does it?
